Custom Rods I build custom fishing rods of all types including fly rods, spinning and bait casting, as well as saltwater, musky and catfish. I do something different with each rod and use exotic woods and other materials in the handles. Fly rods are my specialty and I have access to nearly all brands of blanks such as Sage, Winston, Thomas and Thomas, Orvis, Scott, St. Croix, Lamiglas in addition to my own line of blanks. I make bamboo rods which are entirely hand planed and hand made. I have custom rods already built for sale on my website. I do not build a standard rod, and all of my custom rods are different and can be personalized. I will design a rod for your needs, and work with you to provide a rod of your specific description. I provide this service on both bamboo and graphite rods. I make a series of rods for small stream fishing in the Smoky Mountains. These rods are 2 piece and are made in 5 ft. 2,3, or 4 weight, 5 ft. 4 weight and 6 ft. 2/3 or 3/4 weight. I also make a 5 ft. 1 piece rod that is for 5/6 weight. This rod is ideal for a 6 weight line and will cast 40 feet with ease. These rods are ideal for fishing small streams and yet are a different experience for other types of fishing. They are also great for short range panfishing. NOTE: Check back often as items and rods will be added continually. |

10 — sage fly This is a Sage fly rod 7ft. 10 in. 000wt (that is the weight) Super light and a delight to cast. The handle has burl cork and the reel seat insert is black and white ebony from Africa. A truly unusual rod. This can be purchased with a 2 1/2 inch J. Austin Forbes reel from England that is a beautiful cranberry color that has the line and backing already installed.
